Do what you can to make realistic changes in your home, and remember, these changes don't have to happen overnight.
#1 Clean Up Your Diet
Clean up your diet by eliminating foods that come in a box, processed foods, and sugar. Focus on incorporating whole foods into your diet by choosing fresh fruit, vegetables, and healthy fats and oils (coconut or avocado) on your next grocery trip.
#2 Get Good Sleep
Sleep is much more important than we may think. Getting at least 8 hours of sleep can lower your risk for serious health problems including - diabetes and heart disease - while also reducing stress and improving your mood.
#3 Move Your Body
By incorporating exercise into your daily routine, you remove harmful toxins in your body and increase sweat production, encouraging detoxification. So get up and get moving, try going for a walk or taking a yoga class.
#4 Unplug From Technology
Unplugging reduces stress and promotes your physical and mental health. Be realistic with your unplugging and start with these simple steps - utilize the Do Not Disturb feature at night, set a schedule and time limits for electronic use, and start and end your day unplugged. Look for other ways to relax your mind by reading a book, taking a warm bath, or going for a walk.
#5 Limit Alchohol Intake
Limiting your alcohol intake is one of the best ways to keep your body's detoxification system strong. Try to limit your alcohol intake to 2 servings/week.
#6 Stay Hydrated
Adequate water intake helps detoxify your body and regulates the body temperature process. Your daily water intake should be at least 64 oz or half your body weight in ounces (ex. body weight: 140lbs = daily water intake: 70 oz). If drinking enough water is difficult for you, try carrying around a reusable water bottle, adding fresh fruit to your water, and drinking water on a schedule.
